SMALL TOWN GIRLS WHO ROCKED AT BEAUTY PAGEANTS－best dress

Beauty queens from small towns are making just the right kind of noise around. They are beautiful, confident and truly determined to achieve their goals in life. We spoke to a few beauty queens who share their thoughts on hailing from lesser known towns, and what makes them a winner all the way.

Miss India United Continents 2015, Sushrii Shreya Mishraa says,"I feel the advantage that I have is that, I have been to the remotest villages, as my father was in army, due to which I got a chance to stay in villages. Being from small town, keeps me rooted to my culture and helps me live a simple life. The real beauty of small towns lies in its simplicity. It is very easy to get carried away by the lifestyle in the city, but being from small town helps me stay grounded always.

Stunning beauty Vartika Singh, Miss India Grand International 2015, who hails from Lucknow shares her thoughts on being a small town girl. She says,"I feel, coming from lesser known place like Lucknow, I have a very strong foundation. The upbringing is such that, we grew up to become, strong headed individuals. I believe I'm more confident and deeply attached to my culture and tradition, which is a advantage of being from a small town.

The only disadvantage, of hailing from a small town is the kind of opportunities and exposure, that girls from metro cities get. People in smaller towns are not much aware of things like beauty pageants, and I feel I'm truly blessed to have won a pageant, and got an opportunity to represent my country at Miss Grand International pageant.

Another beauty queen, who represented India at Miss Universe, Manasi Moghe, talks about her journey from being a Indore girl to winning the Miss Diva 2013 crown. Manasi says,"I hail from Indore, and belong to a family where academics are of prime importance, participation, in a beauty pageant was a bit a off beat decision, but I decided to go ahead with it, since I used to follow beauty pageants since childhood." Being from a small town, I feel makes me feel more secure about myself, and I'm much more confident about my decision. I truly believe that only determination towards ones goals, can make ones dreams come true.

To chalk out the disadvantages, I feel the awareness about pageants, is less in smaller towns, than the big cities. After coming to Mumbai. I got to learn a host of things, that I wouldn't have otherwise. My time in Moscow, when I went to represent India at Miss Universe pageant, was a very sweet experience, I got to meet people from different countries, with different cultures. It is all a learning process, I feel, and one needs to keep updating ones knowledge as time progresses."
