Brides and their prospective grooms will find plenty to see and experience at the new Southeast Wisconsin Bridal Showcase on Sunday, Jan. 19, at Fountain Banquet Hall, 8505 Durand Ave.

In addition to more than 40 professional wedding vendors — featuring everything from wedding wear to hair design, catering, invitations and photography — this event will offer a special Groom’s Room, fitted with a cash bar, television and giveaways. Guys can kick back and enjoy the game there, while their brides peruse the booths to find all they need to create their dream wedding.

Wedding show: Black Bridesmaid Dresses

A Bridal Fashion Show featuring the latest trends in wedding attire, floral arrangements, hair and makeup will be held at 2 p.m. More than $1,000 in prizes will be given away after the fashion show.

As they make their way through the hall, attendees will be able to collect information and samples from their favorite vendors in a free, reusable tote bag. Some samples, though, they might want to savor right away — from tasty cake flavors to other food and drink samples. At the Whipped & Battered booth, for example, attendees will be able to view display cakes of various designs, and sample some of owner Kristin Mianecki’s flavor offerings.

Whipped & Battered is one of more than a half dozen different bakeries and sweets vendors that will be showing their creations at the Bridal Showcase. Representatives from restaurants, musical entertainers, florists and travel agencies will also be on site, featuring the latest wedding trends and ideas. And some vendors will offer demonstrations as well as displays. There will also be raffles and prize giveaways, including gift baskets and gift cards,

All together, the January Southeast Wisconsin Bridal Showcase, which is sponsored by The Journal Times, will be a place where everyone can find inspiration and motivation for planning that special day.
