Addison Elizabeth Matthews and Robert Hampton Andrews were united in marriage on June 13, 2015 in Charleston, South Carolina. The ceremony was held at St. Luke’s Chapel at MUSC at six o’clock in the evening and was officiated by the Reverend Doctor Terry Wilson. The parents of the bride hosted a reception following the ceremony at Cottage on the Creek, Shem Creek, in Mount Pleasant, SC.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Carroll Matthews, Junior, of Rock Hill, SC, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Carroll Matthews, Senior, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William JamesMcWaters. Addie received her BA in Elementary Education from Clemson University in 2009 and her Masters of Education from Columbia College. She is employed by the Cyber Academy of SC.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cary Michael Andrews, of Florence, SC, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julian Ramsey Mellette and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crawford Andrews. Hampton graduated from Clemson University in 2009 with a BA in Biological Sciences and a minor in Physics. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2015 as a Doctor of Medicine.
Honor Attendants were Kelly Anne McWaters, of Columbia, SC, who served as Maid of Honor and Georgiana Key Wester, of Florence, SC, who served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were JenniferStaton Andrews, of Greenville, SC; Mary Margaret Andrews Bridges, sister of the groom, of Temple, Texas; Meghan Marie Delaney, of Columbia, SC, and Taylor Mauldin Rushing of Atlanta, Georgia.
Cary Michael Andrews served as his son’s Best Man. Groomsmen were Bradford Cary Andrews of Charleston, SC and Michael Mellette Andrews of Greenville, SC, both brothers of the groom; Marcus Daniel Bridges of Temple, Texas, Charles Martin Grant of Houston, Texas; Evan Lexworth Hanna of Charleston, SC and James Carroll Matthews, III, of Charleston, SC, brother of the bride.
Register and Program attendants were Emma Caroline Rutledge and Allison Grace Rutledge, both of Rock Hill, SC.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant, SC.
The couple will honeymoon on St. Vincent Island and live in Charleston, SC.
